About a week ago I purchased 4 Dendrobium orchids from the clearance shelf along with 2 African Violets. They were in perfect health and even had a few new flower buds forming. They were large plants, and were only $7, so I purchased them all. Everyone in line at the register pretty much thought I was crazy, but buying them was better than letting Lowes throw them away. It is a shame that such beautiful and healthy plants would be abandoned and disposed of without the help of other humans. It would actually be a good idea to purchase them on clearance as long as they are healthy Obviously Lowes cant make them re bloom, so all they can do is get rid of them, but if a collector takes them in and gives them proper conditions they will almost definitely re bloom and put out vigorous growth. I would encourage you to purchase these plants when you see them like this. Has anyone else tried this?
