It's taken me a while ( a few years) to get here so I'll use this an introduction, and a way to get used to the posting on this forum.
These Disa are useful orchids for growing alongside my Sarracenia and extending the flowering season.
They are evergreen and only require protection from frost.
Disa aurata is a miniature species from South Africa, it has flowers only 2 cm ( 0.8") across. They are however beautifully coloured and marked.
Disa aurata
Two cultivars of Disa watsonii, Bramley and Candy both multiflowering with individual flowers 2" (5cm) across
Disa watsonii "Bramley"
Disa watsonii "Candy"
Disa kewensis are multiflowered as with Disa watsonii and flourish in the same growing conditions.
Disa kewensis "Ann"
Give them a try, you'll not regret it.
