Sarracenia purpurea ssp. purpurea

Well, I went to a park today, where they have a bog full of S. purpurea ssp. purpurea, since it was SOO nice out. Here are the pics.

A pic of the lake that feeds the bog:

A part of the overgrown bog:

And its seeds (don't worry, I didn't take any):

I hope you like 'em. (sorry that there's so many)

Thanks guys. I hope to see these plants flower in summer, or whenever they happen to flower. It would be very beautiful to see.

Oh man! My Grandmother has 100 acers with a swampy area near it, ( a 5 min. walk from her house ) Im gonna check it out for sundew, and S. Purpurea... i hope they dont have it filled in! I know they made atempts to clear it out once, (the people who owned the swamp) they might have wipped out any or all traces of the plants ( i hope not ) I have seen S.purpurea in MI on one of the state parks... kinda neat.

Cheers

Yeah, I'd go check it out. If there aren't any S. purpurea, then there's prolly gonna be some D. rotundifolia.
