using lfs for pitcher plants

is it ok to use pure sphag for sarracenia?

the soil the nurseries sell is quite expensive

and i like the sphag better.

Yep, it's perfectly fine to use LFS for sarracenia

LFS works great. But, in my experience, birds seem to like stealing it for nests, so make sure to cover your grow space with bird net or something if you notice birds poking around your plants.

i like it but i have noticed only one problem. in my zone 6 winters when it freezes the LFS is more airy than peat and it freezes much quicker. my sarr in peat has not suffered any damage so far but my ones in lfs have a little bit.
