How do people get their Cephs into a "mound" like that? Most pics I see of folks' Cephs, they're all mounded. Or, is that the natural shape of the crowning on the plant?
I am not sure how the rest does it but I form a mound on top of the pot, make a hole in the middle and put the plant there. The first month is trying because all the media "landslide" when I top water the plant. I have to re-shape the mound each time. After that, the moss grows and keeps the shape of the mound.
With a clump like that, I only water the slopes and not onto the pitchers themselves. I am worried about botyris and what-nots.
1. It looks nice on top of a mound.
2. My T5 lights work in colouring them up.
3. Cephs can grow in year round hot weather in the high 80s. My coolest is only 75F.
4. The pitchers can last really long. I can't remember when was the last time I picked dead pitchers off this plant. Maybe 2-3 months ago.
And finally...
5. Be patient. Be very patient. Be very very patient.
