Helaimphora and the Housefly . . .

Here are a few macro shots of an unfortunate and hungry housefly who happened upon an equally hungry Heliamphora heterodoxa x minor. The insect landed, fed at the nectar spoon (long enough for me to go and grab a camera, well in excess of five minutes), staggered, and fell backwards into the pitcher while I was focusing . . .
