Flower Watch 2009

  • #41
Nice brokken, I really want to have some flowers next year...

Thanks C12. Moving has been pretty trying. Some of the plants may not make it, but all the sarracenia prolly will. At least that's behind me now. :)

I only have One. A dana's delight, but i bought it flowering. Does that count? Also, I just had a first successfull dormancy, where my danas delight didn't die and hopefully my catesbai and purpurea are alive, I think they arre. And i have another dormat plant, but i don't know what it is.

None anymore :/ A squirral came and bit a bit, making the flower tip over on its own weight. Imma find that squirral.

If it's any consolation, my dog's tail has killed her sixth flower bud from my Dana's Delight. She doesn't so much have a tail as a weed-wacker.

Up to 72. One of the big rubra clumps is starting to do its things. I don't think I'll have the time to make too many amazing crosses, but we'll see... All of my plants seem to be timed differently this year, so that doesn't help. Feel free to PM me if you're interested in some pollen; check out my growlist.

I'll try to get some pictures soon.

Nice growing everyone!

Again I have not counted... But I have some pictures lol There are LOTS of flowers in here (many more new buds than open don't think they show up too well in these pictures) In another couple of weeks to a month it's going to be quite the show in here I think!
Enjoy my lame camera phone pics :p

Andrew - Deeeyyyyaang, thats awesome to see man! Love the shots of your greenhouse!

Man, Brokken -- those are STUNNING!! Its always a sheer joy to see Sarracenia flowers - and even more so, the beauty of the possibilities when hybridizing!

What?! You didn't like mine? But there's potential in there... I hope. It's 19 F out here and the plants are in the garage this week.

Only 21 flowers so far, out of 150 or so plants.

Mind you, we have had two abysmal summers on the trot.

Well, today I decided to get some flower pictures rather than tray pictures. I'm sorry, but I cannot tell you what the flowers are I didn't keep track while taking pictures.
Enjoy anyway!

Jimscott: DUDE, OF COUUURSE I like yours!! LOL!!! The pre-flower scape shot is beautiful -- its like the calm before the storm, a blank canvas before the explosion of vivid color, and the silence before the sweet symphony of spring ushers in the deluge of growth and color ... you get the picture, LOL.

Ahhhhh... It's a great time of year.
