Are These all The "Little Bugs?'

Adam

Sarracenia Collector
Are the sarracenia little bug series the following plants:
Red Bug
June Bug
Love Bug
Lady Bug
Doodle Bug
Am I missing any? And the june bug is a real one right?

i believe you nailed them all. and, yes, june bug is a real one.

K. the only one i need then is a lovebug. Also, how do you get the red bug license?

Red bug is patented. You would need permission from the patent holder to propagate. There is a tissue culture facility that has permission. But I assume you didn't actually want to go into commercial production anyway so don't worry about it!

Well, would i be allowed to divide just for my bog garden for placement? Also, when i'm older i will be a cp dealer if it works, and id get it then

Um... i never heard of bed bug. I searched it.
The sarrs... thank you very much!!! But anyways, what about dividing for bog?

He was making a joke lol Those bugs are all actual BUGS/arthropods.

I knew he was joking... well i only saw the bed bug first and that sounded real... so... but anyways please answer my dividing question

I wasnt sure what these all looked like, so I googled them:

Red Bug:

June Bug:

Love Bug:

Lady Bug:

Doodle Bug:

hmmm..they dont really interest me at all..
out of all of them, the only one I would really want is "Red Bug"..
the rest are all too "deformed" looking for my tastes..
I especially dont care for hybrids with S. psittacina in them..
but thats just me.

Hey Scot - it's not just you. For the most part I don't care for hybrids with S. psittacina, either.

I love psittacina hybrids! i think it gives them flare! Also, the lady bug is pretty awesome, you have to actually see it.

I'm interested in getting a psittacina, but I couldn't imagine crossing it with something. The look would be... weird.

Although it would be fun to do some godawful demon cross, like (S. 'Judith Hindle' x S. 'Adrian Slack') x (S. Orephila x S. Minor).

Edit: Looks like D'Amato's nursery is ahead of me. "S. x 'Abnorma'": S. [ (flava v. rugelli x leuc) x (x Royal Ruby)] x [(x wilissi) x flava v. cuprea] o_O

Me either...except when crossed with a really good leuco. I still think the 'Bug' series is an awful mess, but good starter plants for beginners. After that..they should all be destroyed!! Mwa ha ha haaaa...blech!

Not even with a leuco IMO Not even a Moorei could make those crosses look good...Looks like psittacina is the black sheep of the Sarr family LOL I wouldnt destroy them though :)

seriously, u can't even feed it! You gotta pry its hood open to toss a bug inside if u wanted to. What's up with THAT? Yes i'm lazy. And darlingtonias don't count cause they're too cool. Nor scarlet belles.

i have all of the bug series. my favorite is probably doodle bug, because of the coloration it develops in full sun. least favorite is a toss up between red bug and june bug. my red bug just doesn't get very big, it's very prolific in developing growing points, which makes sense. i believe it is a cross between two different S. rubra subsp. june bug is just boring in coloration. here's pics of all of mine, except red bug, which for some reason i've never photographed.

This plant will self destruct after three years of growing experience.

Love Bug is actually not that bad...or at least the one sarracenia grew isn't. The other ones are just sort of blah.
