Sarracenias not coming up right.

That's what you should have done. At this point it doesn't matter. And given your summer temperatures as I suggested before some partial shade in the afternoon would probably be advisable.

Sounds like a good plan.

I'm worried though; if the plants do not attain their proper growth and feed, thus fertilising themselves naturally, will they still be able to return the following spring?

Yes.




You may also want to check for earthworms. They add nutrients to the soil, and kill the Sarrs.
