Heliamphora pitcher nectaries

A subject that is often covered in literature but seems rarely photographed with nectar present.
It is assumed these are used to bait crawling insects upward to the main nectaries of the spoon.

Very cool. There are prominent nectaries on the H. nutans "Giant" and I 've seen that from time to time.

Nice shot . . .

Thanks David :)

This is a H. tatei... ummm maybe LOL
(inside joke ;) )

Beautiful shot of H. limb....errrrrr H. tatei I mean :p
It's quite amazing to see how similar Heliamphora and Sarracenia anatomy still is and yet they are on 2 separate continents. Such a 'gray area of evolution'...(zing!! another insider hehehe)
Your T5s sure are keeping the puppies happy and oozing with nectar though :) Nice job indeed.

Now that's educational!
