Weird weird purpurea growth!

Won't flower stalks sometimes throw off new plants at the end like orchids periodically do (called keikis)?

My orchids periodically do this and so do my echinacea.... though it doesn't look like there are any areas for new pitchers to form at the base of the current ones... looks smooth

Coneflowers produce daughter plants from flowers?! I have a ton in my front yard and I've never seen that. It's probably because the goldfinches eat the flowers before they go to seed.

I have a few plants (not the standards) that grow full plants at each each stem "joint" as it goes to the flower.. which is usually a sad version.

This purp is like the post a while back where a vft started growing small plants on the flower stems. Per Brokken... called "Vegetative apomixis"
