Brie

Sarracenia freak
Since Sarracenia is definitely one of the biggest parts of my collection, I think its time I made them their own thread.. iI'll start off with photos taken yesterday.. Things are FINALLY starting to pick up with our recently sunny weather and I finally have some new pitchers coming up, as well as flowers finally opening... :boogie: Pardon how dark some of these photos are, I snapped all these after work last night and the sun was going down..

After trimming phyllodia and other junk off, theyre look much cleaner..

It is currently exactly that color.. Very.. bronze highlighted.. Its just beginning to get some green back after the dark winter.. All my purps were just dark dark red/purple all winter, even the montanas which are typically neon green/red.. So I think its just a phase they're going through..

Nice Brie! Be patient with Brokken's Cats...they aren't the quickest but they should be very rewarding when they reach maturity. I recently transplanted a few of mine and they are also sulking a bit.

Loving those purps, especially the S. purp purp - Lake District Of Muskoka. I did not know S. Hank had pink flowers, very nice. Gotta get me an Adrian Slack, those pitchers are huge!

Ohhhh! Love it! Wish I could grow sarrs like you!

I do have an issue with that lens cap in the last photo... :-))

Nope nothin on that one yet.. Its been a very.. very.. slow spring up here in the PNW.. I'd say 2/3rd of my sarrs are JUST NOW beginning to wake up..

New sarrs I picked up yesterday while hopping around Seattle nurseries/stores.

Top is S. flava maxima x S. purp burkii/rosea, to the right of it is S. alata x purp heterophylla, all the way to the left is oreophila x purp heterophylla. I cant wait for these guys to grow out more of these awesome pitchers.

Also, the illustrious Paul B. was kind enough to split his bounty of sarr seedlings from Fred P's auction with me... The one plug he sent me contained 38 seedlings.. Holy wow. Thank you so much Paul! They are [Wilkerson's Red x Alata Red/Black] x Leah Wilkerson. Should be DOOOPPEE in the coming years. Thankfully, Fred sowed the seeds in super milled LFS so separating them was relatively easy after rinsing the root ball out..

All set up.. Seedlings divided, rinsed and in clean water..

Sweet ! The alata x purp heterophylla is my favorite.

Sweet. Can't wait to see those seedlings grow. How deep do you plant the Osmocote pellets in each hole?

'Great collection, Brie! Everything is so nicely laid out and it is a thrill to see the new pitchers forming. I can hardly wait for the photos to come.

Looking VERY nice Brie! The 'Wilkerson's White Knight' x S. purp venosa and the Leuco Franklin A x Leuco Franklin B are actually crosses that I made and sent seeds of them to Rob. They are both nice but you will really like the White Knight x Purp!
