hello maiden, here's what i am talking about:
here's a typical heliamphora minor (taken from google):
heliamphora_minor_865.jpg

note how short and narrow the neck is, and how it actually bends over the opening of the pitcher. the lid can either be completely spread out, or creates a "v" as seen in this photo
Heliamphoraminor02g.jpg

(look at the largest pitcher, and side views of the nectar stalk and spoon)

now, contrast that to my plant, which also was given to me as Heliamphora minor, but clearly isnt:

note how heterodoxa like the nectar spoon is, and how thick the nectar stalk is in comparison to the previous photo

a side view of the nectar spoon

older leaf on the left, you can see that the nectar spoon raises as leaf development completes, looking much more erect and heterodoxa like, rather than hunched and domed over like the typical minor.

to summarize nectar spoon morphology, from the side, minor spoons look somewhat like kidney beans while heterodoxa spoons look like darth vader's helmet.

i hope you can see why i believe why your minor might be of introgressed hybridic origin.

Maybe a heterodoxa x minor, which is relatively common in cultivation? I've seen a few heterodoxa x minor labelled as minor but the nectar spoon gives them away.

I don't have any special set up for my plants so I can only grow hardy CPs. I wouldn't even try Helis again unless I made a special grow chamber. I was growing a Cephalotus in warm conditions and low humidity without any problem so I mistakenly assumed H. minor would do well.

Hello amphirion!

Thanks for your reply, i really appreciate :)

But im pretty sure i have a minor.
By the way i have h.minor auyan. The akopan version have less large and more vertical spoon.

http://sogolagro.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/heliamphora_minor_865.jpg. <--- this is exactly what i have here. Maybe you cannot see well on the picture. I think you will never know if a plant is perfectly developped, this can change the spoon morphology.
By the way, almost every picture of minor i found on google is exactly what i have here. When i search minor x heterodoxa, the plant is very different.
Oh by the way, i saw the book and videos you talked about. I saw and read all this last summer :)
I learn a lot about the angel falls and the botanical eldorado of auyan tepuy.
Have you seen the ancien black frog ??

http://www.drosophyllum.com/bilder/Gross/Heliamphoraminor02g.jpg <--- im not sure its h.mimor

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7082/6894300878_0049f077b9_c.jpg <--- i cannot see the entire spoon, very hard to judge.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7266/6894301148_de9edbdfde_o.png yes i think you have some exterior influence into your minor.

H.minor exactly what i have

H.minor exactly what i have here

http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTYC7QSLtbMzmrreqlUczKl16ivVFcNtWGLxi7lI-t83-fN7vvTCA

Its the EXACT copy of my plant.

So buddy, im sorry for your minor(x hetero), it sucks when you buy a plant with the bad identification, but im 100% sure that i have a minor.

My plants again:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dals09/7458830176/" title="Heliamphora minor auyan de dals009, sur Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8025/7458830176_9acc97bd20.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Heliamphora minor auyan"></a>

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dals09/7458848662/" title="Laval-20120628-00206 de dals009, sur Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8149/7458848662_f3778531ce.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Laval-20120628-00206"></a>

ah. my apologies then. the pictures you just showed are definitely minor...
i guess the initial photos looked more suspect....

also, i wasnt saying that your plant was heterodoxa x minor, but rather, minor with heterodoxa introgression ie: (((minor x heterodoxa) x minor) x minor) x minor ---which is completely useless now ;)

great looking plants.

:)

But for your helis, do you call back at the place you buy them?

My nep sanguinea was tagged ventricosa when i buy it.
I was not happy when i saw that.
