I didn't realize that I had indigenous white spiders in Kentucky...
Imagine her surprise at seeing my new HCW pitcher:-O

crab spider. can apparently change color some....

sweet.... I had no idea

I saw a pic of a spider on another persons pic thread that was perfectly camo with their sarr's pitcher, i don't think the person even knows the spiders in the photo. But i saw it right away like with your pic... What a crazy looking spider too!

Great photo Butch! Thanks for sharing. I love white Sarrs :)

Ahhh I don't like spidersXD Beautiful plant, what are your conditions?

Now can we have a close-up of the spider? :spider:

Nice camouflage, I wonder if he would feel out of place on a purpurea:) ah just saw kula's post , be interesting to see what would happen if it was placed on something like a purpurea

That spider has a good eye for prime real estate.

Thanks andrew, I had been wanting a nice HCW for a while.
This is one of MW's HCW "clone F"

Only arrived a couple months ago, otherwise I would have submitted it to potm

Conditions?
ummmmm outside, lots of sun, 80's most of the time so far, been a cooler summer here, very few days in the high 90's
growing in peat/sand mix, nothing special care wise.

Fred, I have a much larger resolution copy of that pic. I can crop a larger close up of the spider.
I checked on her tonight, she is inside the pitcher munching on a fly lol

Very beautiful photo of that Crab Spider! Such wonderful color adaptation! But, wouldn't it be stealing food?! I guess they'll be able to share, unless it falls in...

Funny, I have a crab spider that looks almost exactly like that one in shape that hangs out inside my Alata pitchers catching fruit flies. That one's green though.... perhaps same species that can change colors?
