S. minor 'okee giant' new acquisition

Came in the mail yesterday! Seed grown.

Very nice!

Is it a specific clone of 'Okee Giant' or unknown?

I know the one I've got has a slightly different lid and mouth shape on it.

What an odd way to pot it up

No specific clonal data. Seems a lot more red than the okee giants ive seen in the past.

The potting may be a tad dramatic but I like to point the growth toward the center of the pot so I don have to repot every year or two because they hit the side

I'd recommend protecting this particular plant from freezing. S. minor tends to be more sensitive than other Sarrs and I almost lost mine to rot after letting it freeze for a couple days last winter.

Thanks for the tip! I think my sarrs are going to overwinter on my covered balcony instead of my community garden plot. Should keep them from freezing.

Was pulling some dead leaves off my plants and this little bugger popped off my hurricane creek! Hopefully it takes!
