    Sarracenia leucophylla burgundy

Hi, does anyone know if this is a cross or a cultivar of leucophylla. I'm kind of skeptical of this because it's so dark. Thank you

Meadowview's own site (the source of the cultivar) claims it as a backcross of leucophylla and rosea, but heavily leaning toward leucophylla structure in everything but color. It's a case of "at what point do you put the cutoff," as most Sarracenia are by nature somewhat ancestrally hybridized with other species.
Everything has a reason, whether big or small. Never underestimate the power of what is or is not.
There is far more to everything than meets the eye.
