Do you have to put water in a purple pitcher plants pitchers? thanx in advance!
 
yup.

it helps when they are inside and the water from the pitchers evaporates , to just re fill them.

when they are outside they catch rainwater .
 
yes, it acts as a bacterial cess pool so the plant can digest its prey, as wll as hydrate the plant,
