Heli growing pattern question

I've got a tiny h.heteradoxa x minor...usually pitchers pop up from the base of the plant but recently pitchers have been coming out from the lower halves of existing pitchers. Most have been coming up green, these are an orangy-red. At first I thought they might be flower stalks. I've been fertilizing with a dilute solution of orchid fertilizer and superthrive.

Don't get me wrong, these new pitchers look great. But is this type of growth normal?

Hi Michelle, thats normal, it jsut shows your Heliamphora is repsonding to good care and it rewarding you with new juvenile pitchers that, in time may be seperated and grown into new plants.
