Should sarr pitchers be

superimposedhope

Somewhat Unstable
Should I refill the Sarr pitchers that I got today. They probably spilled in shipping or whatever. Should I or leave them and just let them do their thing?

Joe

The only species that even naturally has water in their pitchers is S. purpurea. If you're growing it outside, I would just let nature take it's course. It's not going to hurt the plant to be empty for a little while.

Hre are the species that may need re-filling(or they actually NEED to be refilled)
Sarracenia purpurea, S. purpurea spsp. venosa,S. purprea subsp. venosa var. burkei, S. purpurea spsp. purpurea
ALL Heliamphora, Most Nepenthes.
The basic rule is that if the opening alows water in, refill 1/3 to 1/2 the way.
If the lid prevents water from getting in, DO NOT fill it up at all.:)
