Is this a popei?

Is this a sarracenia popei? It was sold to me under this name, and in a Japanese book I did indeed find a photo of a purple sarra hybrid called "popei".

However, most other popei pix I found on the net showed remarkably different colors.

Any ideas what it could be?

Many thanks in advance!

S.x popei is flava x rubra and there are very red forms of both flava and rubra. If one or both of the parents is red, then some of the offspring will also have strong red features. The shape looks like popei, and if it has pink or orange flowers then it looks pretty certain.

Thank you very much for your help, Alvin - I'll keep an eye on the flowers!

cheers

Hans

My plant has green parents, but it still very nice. It produces its best pitchers in late summer/autumn.
