Deep sea carnivorous sponge

Now that's an interesting animal (yes, I said animal, as all sponges are)!
 
It looks like a candelabra! I need to sculpt one.

Yeah, even cooler is most sponges can reprodcue through being broken into pieces too, so somewhat like a plant when in adult form. Not sure about these ones, though.
 
Very sweet shape. Wonder what advantage(s) such a form gives the sponge?

Don't see much reason for tossing "carnivorous" in the title like it is something unusual. All sponges are filter feeders and so are "carnivorous".
