I Am the Terror Of the Night!
I have been neglecting my Sarracenia Clusters of photos, time for a night excursion.
(Sorry pictures suck. IT was really dark with a bad flashlight.)
I thought the greenhouse would be the best location for my bog plants,
But its not so. A good amount of light is lacking, so next season im
going to have to trim a few trees. I was beginning to suspect
that the Sarrs may not be catching food, So I went to take a look.
Dominant Sarracenia Flava Cluster
Sarracenia Catesbaei has a very lopsided pitcher.
However, It is almost halfway full, reaching the bottom portion of the pot.
Quickly looking up, I see a moth whip past my face, only to land directly
upon the lips of the large Flava cluster. The moth IMMEDIATELY fell down the trap
(Note the dark outline.)
Looking deeper into the cluster, I find that other pitchers
are also filled with previous prey that is normally not viewed without a flashlight
or in daylight.
That poor moth is doomed now. Working its way down farther into the
most brutal traps in my bog. I feel really bad for this one.

Anyone else have any nice bog photos for the Mid-season Collective?
