there are bioluminscent fish that are completely natural... the ones you see are pet stores has nothing to do with genes... they just take the fish out of water, stick a needle in its gut, and fill it with bioluminescent material... The fish die a few weeks/months later[b said:Quote[/b] (Est @ June 17 2004,7:35)][b said:Quote[/b] ]Have you guys seen those genetically modified tobacco plants? Does anyone remember the Simpsons episode where they made tomacco? Well, it actually inspired some guy to make a tomacco plant in real life, I read about it maybe a half year ago or so.Anyone seen those engineered bioluminescent fish?
Back to the topic at hand, Jim, why don't you let us know how it works out, it could have some interesting results besides the special effects
I think he is talking about the glo-fish. The fish that had the reflective gene added to them. While they don't glow in the dark per say they do glow a bright neon color under a black light[b said:Quote[/b] (Spectabilis73 @ June 16 2004,11:41)]there are bioluminscent fish that are completely natural... the ones you see are pet stores has nothing to do with genes... they just take the fish out of water, stick a needle in its gut, and fill it with bioluminescent material...
