Green slime

Hello everyone!

My U.Tricolor I planted from a divided plant rooted well, but the soil is covering with some sort of green slime all over, I think it might be some sort of algae. Now I would like to know if any of you would know how to remove it without harming my poor defenseless utric? I tried to "pluck" it away, but the utric's roots really aren't deep at all, so I ended up plucking as much utric as I did the slime...
Now that's no good...

A new avatar! You might consider a temporary flooding of the container. It should float. What doesn't float can be gently prodded into doing so. Can you separate the Utric out for a time or is it too enmeshed?
