Because snakes are "exotic." As is belly dancing. It isn't too hard to find pictures of belly dancers with big ole' red tail boas. They do kinda go together. The smooth undulating movements...

Maybe its just me, but there does seem to be a lot of dancing girls that are into snakes too.
