Recently some of my sphagnum moss has started turning bright purple blue and violet. Anyone else have moss like this? I grow under a combo of LEDs and T5 perhaps its a result of that. however this setup is almost 2 years old now and this is the first time I've seen this moss.
Its been getting hotter then usual where I live 105ºF+ and my A/C on my chamber is on nearly all day and the temps are still ok but they're definitely little higher then I'm able to keep them in the cooler months, 76-77 vs 78-79 now.
I've heard of using Dyna-Gro Pro-tekt silicon 0-0-3 to help...
Was just winding down for the day and did my "pocket dump" where I place all my EDC items on my smile side table and was wondering if anyone else in the TF is also an EDC'er? For thats not familiar EDC is "every day carry" and refers to the items you carry on your person on a daily basis. Its...
Was doing my fertilizing today so I decided to take some pics as well,
N. robcantleyi
N. truncata "red flush highland"
N. veitchii x burbidgeae
I'm really into N. peltata right now but mine is in an awkward place to take pictures so these are the best I can do. My pelota is doing...
Today I had to repot two neps that had out grown their little seedling pot, and being as these species seemed to be so closely related I thought it might be of interest to do a root comparison set of photos for anyone interested.

I was wondering those of you that have seen nepenthes in situ, how are the seedlings germinating and reaching maturity in the wild do you think?
The reason I ask is because it seems I have to be quite diligent with my tiny seedlings and about every two or three weeks carefully remove any of the...
Hey CP'ers, I was given a bottle of "Feed Me! Mist" orchid food spray by an orchid growing friend. She knows I don't grow orchids but knows I've used orchid ferts in the past so she prompted me to give it a try. Has anyone else tried this on their Neps? I looked it up and I'm getting the...
I've been growing this odd hybrid and I was wondering who else is? I'd love to see what everyones looks like. Mine is still small but has put on some good size in the last few months.
That largest pitcher is about 4-5". Has anyone observed uppers on this plant yet?
I have a small collection of cephalotus. The problem is though I tend to pay more attention to my nepenthes and so my ceph
s get neglected. They seem to be doing ok but I have decided to take better care of them starting now. Usually I don't check them or water them for weeks at a time, but they...
I had to repot one of my N. attenboroughii seedlings because the substrate was rotted and compacted so I thought some fresh shoes for its feet would do some good.
Thought I'd snap some pics of its roots since I don't recall seeing little root pics like this.
thanks,
Jess
Hello TF'ers,
I'm having an issue with two of my nepenthes. One is a hybrid of N. (ventricosa x sibuyanensis) x burkei and the other is a nice seed grown N. burbidgeae.
The hybrid nep has been going down hill for the last month or so, and at first I thought perhaps I over fertilized it because...
I was wondering if anyone is growing this interesting nepenthes? I recently acquired a small seedling and as of now am just growing it in typical HL conditions and it seems fine. But I was wondering if anyone has observed any special needs? there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of information...
I was reorganizing my chamber yesterday and snapped a few pics with my cell and thought I'd post them. Keep in mind all my plants are 90% SG seedlings and have only been in this chamber about 2.5-3 months at the most. I mostly just wanted to post some pics of the chamber itself and get some...
Hi fellow TF'ers,
Today up for trade I have a N. robcantleyi, its about 3" leaf to leaf not including the tendrils. What I'm looking for is a N. argentii. Size isn't as important to me as is the overall health of the plant. So if you have a N. argentii please PM me, if the N. robcantleyi isn't...
Just finished placing this in a new pot and thought I'd share.
I'd love to see your guy's D. falconeri, Its my favorite species of drosera.
thanks,
Jess
A friend who grows bonsai gave me a small bag of red lava sand. Its basically like crushed up lava rocks like one would use in a nep mix. Has anyone tried using this instead of silica sand or in combination with, for their ceph mix?
I'd like to get your guys opinions on ventricosa. I know this nep is usually thought of as boring and a common "beginner" house plant of the nep community sometimes, however I have always really found them quite beautiful and interesting.
Since I've been out of the CP world for some time until...
