    N. Hamata and Edwardsiana Pollen on Hand - Need Female Plant

Ok, so this is not a sale ad. More or less a personals ad... (ha) Long story short, I won the last batch of Hamata and Edwardsiana pollen that was on Ebay. None of my girls are old enough to flower, so I figured I'd post some personals ads to see what I can come up with. I'm looking to pair...

    Seedling Nursery Project

Alright, so I'm at a decision point. My options right now for construction are to build this enclosure out of plywood, fiberglass, and epoxy resin, or just plywood and epoxy resin. As far as the resin itself is concerned, I think I'm going to go with the polygem zoopoxy. Seems like it has...

    Seedling Nursery Project

Well, I realized the complications and difficulties involved with using an old aquarium (read: I have a bicalcarata marudi, and its already outgrowing its enclosure). So, I did some work. The top and bottom are built with the same style framing. Most of the lumber was cull or sourced from...

    Seedling Nursery Project

So the Amazon order was finished. Picked up a humidity controller, and am building a 5 gallon bucket fogger for my humidity controller out of a pond fogger. The controller will kick on the fogger and a 90mm fan to pump it in. In order to avoid two fog setups or a $400 vivarium controller, the...

    Seedling Nursery Project

Planning on using one of the old rio 200 pumps for a purge pump for water changes. Good call! Thanks for the link! Read it through, and I'm going to keep it in mind when I work on this. Thank you! And the grow space that is planned is to leave a 4 inch reservoir at the bottom, and have a 42...

    Seedling Nursery Project

Right now this is a planned Nepenthes Nursery. I'm looking at controlling the humidity and temperature through the use of a vivarium fogger and a series of airflow and vent fans to control heat and cooling. The lighting utilized is a 4 ft four bulb T8 6500k shop light ($15 HD clearance, woot!)...

    Seedling Nursery Project

Hey all, I'll be editing and updating this post this evening as time permits. Recently, I have come into possession of an old 55 gallon aquarium that once housed a massive tetra colony. As I'm not really into fish, I was drunkenly staring at it, and thought, nursery terrarium! So In short...

Hey, you and I both! The market on these is really barren right now... I managed to get the last squat red ********** had in stock. Still hunting a giant or regular myself.

    Lowe's Nepenthes

So, an update. I've noticed that a lot of the posts here talk about successes with these delicate plants, but I'm going to take a moment to talk about my failure. When I picked up this guy at Lowe's, it was a plant that had begun it's decline. Over 25% of the leaves were black and dead...

    Lowe's Nepenthes

Yup! Sorta. The container is the drain hole. The plant is in a net cup, so my watering method is to take it out of its pot, top water completely, then place it back in the vessel on top of a single layer of LECA. Keeps the roots away from water and lets oxygen move freely. I think.

    Lowe's Nepenthes

I figured as much... Still, I wasn't about to let a nep go to the dumpster for $5 :P Still, I did check BBP's website, and right now they dont have any Ventrata or Ventricosa up for retail, but they do have a neat looking hybrid available, the "Ventricosa x (singalana x aristolochiodes)". Not a...

    Lowe's Nepenthes

So, rescued one from Lowe's... The cashier felt bad for it, due to the fact that most of it was black and dead, so $5 nepenthes for me! Was sold as a Bug Biting Plants in a deathcube. Marked Nepenthes Ventricosa, but something tells me that its not a purebreed Ventricosa. So, I took it home...

    D. Capensis Giant form - Largest known

Hey all, I'm on a mission to find this mythical 60cm D. Capensis strain. I have done some research, and saw that there are some strains that do get quite large, but I am still looking for the monster plants that I'm told are in existence. Information alone on where to find a verified strain is...
