    Long time hiatus

Hi folks - It has been... probably at least 6 years since I last was active here. I am finally at a place where I feel like I can pick up the hobby again, so pretty excited. I am starting off with some of my favorite Sarracenia and will have a handful of windowsill plants. Anyway, I've...

    Sarracenia for trade

Life has settled down a bit and I divided plants today. I have about 7 medium to large Sarracenia alata from Stone County, MS which can get a nice red in the fall. I also have a massive Sarracenia catesbai with about 4 mature growthpoints. I am looking for mature Venus fly traps and temperate...

    A Way to prevent divsion?

I am dealing with what I suppose is a good problem to have... my pings are out of control. Every species has 2-4 full grown specimens, and they flower 24/7. Upkeep is getting too much and I prefer a single, mature plant anyway. Is there a way to discourage division?

    Math Help!

Hi everyone - It has been ages since I did algebra and I am having a hard time solving for this. Can you please assist? I figured this should be easy since there are so many smarties that use the board. Formula: =ROE(b)/[1-ROE(b)] ROE = 0.18135 (I am solving for b) If you wouldn't mind...

    Minerals in Water?

I need some help troubleshooting something. I have an RO system... and when water goes through it, it comes out at about 10 ppm. I have been using it in the trays outside for my giant mini bogs. I took the reading this morning and all 3 ranged from 50 ppm to 75 ppm. Any ideas what could have...

Rot... not sure what to do

Well, I just lost my favorite flava ornata clone from Prince George Co, VA. I dug it up because I noticed the phyllodia were turning brown along with the main growth point. Sure enough, the entire rhizome was mush. My excellens giant is not looking good either (see attached pictures). Is it...

    Phyllodia

Ok, random question regarding Sarracenia and phyllodia. Does everyone here just keep them until they turn brown? At what point (if any) should I clip them? All of my bogs are sending up their first flush of pitchers and also flowers, but look very crowded due to phyllodia everywhere. Just...

    Freeze Dried Freshwater Shrimp

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried feeding this to CPs. I have been using the freeze dried bloodworms but I always have a bad allergic reaction. I read the back of each container and they both have roughly the same breakdown of nutrients. I crushed some and fed it to my Drosera and...
