Missed this thread, mainly because I'm not in this forum often, but I have owned the same Philips lamp for some time and the Heliamphora below has been grown under it. Growth rate has been good, but it lacks a little colouration.

For such a debate to exist, does this not mean that the clones characteristics are not distinguishable? If this is the case, then how would one prove provenance?

I think there is a lot of confusion with regards to 'dark' Cephalotus plants. Some people expect to get the colouration, even if they don't get it with their other Cephalotus in the same conditions. In my experience, some clones appear to have the potential of becoming darker in the same growing...

With regards to what Dimi said, these two seedlings are from the same batch of location crosses and the front one (bottom of picture) has always shown a darker colouration to its siblings.

Colour expression is a function of cultivation conditions in Cephalotus in my experience. This plant was growing under grow lights ~1 month ago and was green but has taken on this colour since being placed outside.

It's growing on an open grow-shelf. I have powdery mildew on soil of another Cephalotus, which is kept drier, nearby.

It'll colour, just like other cephs do. I have a Big Boy growing in same place and that's green too and it's exactly the same clone as the one in my avatar.
