D. burmanii tentacle movements

I've finally managed to capture the moving tentacles of D. burmanii. Below are two short videos of two different tentacles moving in real time after repeated stimulation:

Very nice Ben. It's for this very reason that D. burmanii is one of my favorite sundews.

On a side note, I fed a beetle to one of my D. burmanii yesterday to observe this movement. Always a pleasure to witness!

Yup, even though slightly sadistic.

...no germination on my burmanni yet...after almost a month/

Hmm, that's odd. I would have expected them to sprout within a week, even though I've never grown D. burmanii from seed. What're your conditions like Alex?

-Ben

ok 29 gallon terrarium. temps are between 75 and 80 all time. humidity is around 70. light...i dont know for sure but its enought for a capensis albino. that it gets its pink glands. its 2 30watt bulbs i think. the single seed i can find(they all went into darker colored LFS) is in the media of the capensis. it is about 4 inches away from the lghts...
Alex

Seems fine, maybe the seeds were just defective or something. Unless the babies are trapped in the LFS.

-Ben

nah. its sitting right on top of the DEAD sphagnum. it is light in color so i can see the seed everyday. ill try agin next time.
Alex

Is the LFS kept moist, or is it dry?

Dunno, I guess your best bet would be to try again then.

Hmm, thats odd. I know those seeds were good because I have burmanni popping up everywhere is the same place I took those seed pods from. If you don't have any luck let me know and I'll send ya a clump of live burmanni from my bog.
