D. spatulata flower stalk

my spatulata sent up a flower stalk. The bud is taking soo long to develop! since it did , it stopped producing leaves and now it just looks ugly. I kind of wanted seeds, but I'm thinking I'll be better off with taking leaf cutting- I just want some back up plants.
I want to know if you guys think it looks like its being drained of vital energy and if I should cut of the stalk- it seems like both the bud and leaves stopped growing.

wow, that looks so much like my D. venusta.
mine plant is also flowering right now and it has a minimal amount of dew on it, but i want seeds :) you could also cut off the stalk and just take leaf cuttings later if you want a few more plants.
it is cool to see sundews flower, though, so do what you think is best.
Later,
Aaron

Why not just cut the stalk up and use it for "cuttings"?

That plant is in fact D. venusta.
