Woolly Cross: Lanata x Kenneallyi

DrWurm

Californian in DC
So a while back I posted a couple threads asking about a cross between D. lanata and D. kenneallyi. Here is the sole result (so far). This is the only seedling I've found since I sowed the seeds. Unless kenneallyi decided to self pollinate, this should be legit.

A born killer >:]

And here's a capensis "red" seedling from Not A Number's stash. (Yeah, I didn't get around to sowing those until a few weeks ago dude.)

Good luck with the "reds". The parent plants faded to green in late summer last year and are now only starting to turn red. The other D. capensis in the pot stay green though.

Hey.. ya got one! That's a good start. Maybe it will produce some plants from the roots or leaf cuttings as well.

UPDATE

So today I decided to transplant my seedling into its own pot to keep a better eye on it. It's putting out some nice pink leaves. I'm still half wondering if kenneallyi decided to self pollinate.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/drwurm/3715521712/" title="Drosera Lanata x Kenneallyi: Big seedling. by DrWurm, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3420/3715521712_828d17d5f3.jpg" width="500" height="414" alt="Drosera Lanata x Kenneallyi: Big seedling." /></a>

Imagine my surprise, when growing right next to it, was a tiny little drosera seedling.

In fact, after poking around in the pot a little more, I found a couple more seedlings. I'm not sure why they're so tiny when this one is so big.

Those could be recent germinations. I often find new sprouts a year later in my pots that have been nowhere near any flowers.

On the plus side the D. capensis parent plants are turning red again :D

Looks nice, wooly sundews are my favorite.
