D. Filiformis...Dormant?

All the dewy leaves have died back and left this green ball..thing...
And I haven't been able to find any pictures, but is this what a dormant Filiformis looks like?
The temperature's only dropped slightly at night, so it doesn't seem like it'd be enough to do this, but eh..???

Yep. That is a hibernaculum. Most of mine have formed one already except for a few of the smaller ones.

filiformis ssp filiformis goes dormant pretty early. My large one started to die back in August.

Oh..cool :-O
Thanks!!

I have had D. filiformis form a cottony ball at the crown. Daylength, I think, is the dominant variable, followed by temperature.

Mine have the cottony growth too but yours definitely looks dormant from what I've been told.

wow, that's a cute little hibernacula!
For fun, here's one of my D. filiformis "Florida All-Red" emerging from its hibernacula in the spring

Your hibernaculum looks just like the one of D. hybrida.
