Flower power

Not too good a close-ups. The closer my camera gets to the plant, the blurrier the pic usually is. I'm lucky I got these shots. Howver I'm fairly certain this is dielsiana, especially after comparing pictures of the two species across multiple sources on the internet. D. natalensis always seems to have more elongate petioles, larger overall size, and a bit more tapering spoon lamina. I'll actually be receiving seeds of natalensis soon, so I'll be able to make comparisons. Plus, I've also read natalensis is the less common plant, with dielsiana often being mistaken the other way around.

You can certainly tell they are pink.

With the wind whipping things around it was fun trying to take pictures. Spray 'n pray as they say in the army.

The glands on the ovary look like tiny specs of untarnished copper to the naked eye in bright sunlight. The bluish tinge of the center color splash might not show up on your monitor. I calibrated the lens used to a Macbeth color checker in Photoshop and is pretty close to nature on my setup.

Great color! I have the purple form growing on, but nowhere near to flowers yet. The color is fantastic on yours though!

Ahhh. I really like the contrast between the brilliant petals and the black centers.

Drosera echinoblastus - even though the second picture is a little blurry you can see the adaxial surface of the petals are more pastel colored.
