Drosera binata multifida "extrema"

Jcal

Decumbent Fanatic
I have a few varieties of d. Binata and I have taken root cuttings of both. I did not label the cuttings and the pots have been mixed up since them.
My question is, can you tell Multifida apart when the plants are small? If not when can I expect to see the multiple forks?

I've begun to see forks in mine when the plants are about 2-5 months old from leaf cuttings. At first, they look identical.

Thanks for the info. I'll just keep feeding the little suckers and see how they fork.

where do you have them growing? my multifida extrema are growing outside in full sun and arent more than 7-8 inches tall and rarely fork mor than once.. but if i bring a plant in and put it in my terrarium it gets huge

Millipede, I have noticed a similar effect.

Great info. I have all of them outside right now. The weather is changing in my area so I am in transition and moving all of my sundews indoors. Hopefully I see some multiple fork action in the near future.

Mine have only forked about eight times outdoors, and about 10-12 on a windowsill. When under artificial lights, I've easily gotten 16-12 forks. That was when it wasn't even mature.
