why does my D. slackii look so terrible?

I seem to have missed this thread until now. Great photos, guys. I've never even seen a photo of a flower let alone one in the flesh. This species is a fave of mine.

From my experience I would add that D. slackii seems to resent being transplanted, or at least harshly transplanted. I've had mine for several years and whenever I've bare-rooted it, it literally took months to recover normal growing habits. They can grow well in lfs as well as peat mixes. If the plant forms incomplete leaves after being transplanted I recommend patience while it sorts itself out. Mine seems to prefer being kept on the wet side even for a sundew. They can produce very long roots and tall pots might be a help.

looks bigger in the pic,was about 3/4 inch if memory is correct,
