Drosera regia oddities

Disclaimer: I already posted this on FB, so some of you may have already seen this...apologies in advance for the very poor photo quality.

One of my Drosera regia seedlings is doing something very odd - it seems to have grown 2 carnivorous stalked glands on the single cotyledon it has. The other seedlings out of the batch are normal; ie, two non-carnivorous cotyledons followed by carnivorous leaves. Any thoughts? Is this a defective plant doomed to the compost bin?

It's not defective until it's dead. My thoughts are that it tried to form the normal leaves at the same time as the cotyledons.

Grow it out. You never know if you have a gem untill it grows up
