Capensis repotting question

I have several small capes I'd like to repot. Is a mix of just peat and sphagnum ok, or is some sand necessary?

Pure peat or spaghnum moss can work just fine. It'll just be denser than a mix in sand with it. A plant like capensis shouldn't care very much about that.

D. capensis will grow in just about anything. I'd use a fairly large pot though since they grow massive roots.

I will second the importance of pot size for these. My most impressive D. Capensis has been grown by itself in a deep 12" wide pot...peat and sphagnum 50/50 by volume.

My original capensis plant has had foot-long roots snaking around the water tray for years now. It doesn't hurt the plant (I even have another one just growing in a water tray without any soil) but it can be messy to deal with.
