Young leaf cuttings give small plants...

I had a d.intermedia that had root rot, so I cut off all the leaves and tried to propagate from there.

Majority of the new plants that grow do not grow larger than half an inch across before they kind of stop growing, brown off and die.

No change in growing conditions throughout. It may be d.intermedia needing dormancy but at half an inch, will it go dormant?

No.
It could be fungus?
But did u put the cuttings in a sealed container? Cause if u took the seal off and exposed them to your local conditions the shock from going from 100 humidity to 80 humidity or whatever could have shocked them....

The cuttings all sprouted new growth with no cover, just room humidity. I have stronger plants from more mature leaves.

Drosera intermedia is a temperate spezies (it grows here in Germany, I've added a picture from my Scotland trip, but I'm not 100% sure. could be dr. anglica, too)

the plants don't like hot temperatures for a long time, and if, they like cool nights.
And the absolutly NEED dormancy.

There is also a tropical form : Drosera intermedia "Roraima". It would be better to try this one...
If you live in the tropics, it's not the worst idea to try the tropical Drosera ;o)

Amazing photo Martin! Ive only ever seen D.Rotundifolia in the wild. The plant almost certainly looks like intermedia but without seeing the leaf face on its hard to tell.

Thanks guys. I've been feeding the smaller plants with egg white. Let's hope they will do better with food.

Honestly, it's very difficult to give the plants cooler temperature (lowest at night is over 80 deg.).
