D. spathulata or D. spatulata

BigCarnivourKid

It's been one of dem days
I have seen it spelled both ways and assumed it was the same plant.  I decided I'd find out for sure though from you folks.  ‘Cause you know what they say happens when you assume something.

I asked the same question and this is the answer I received:

It is correctly Drosera spatulata (not spathulata) as this is how it was registered.

But it is correctly Nepenthes spathulata (not spatulata) as this is how it was registered.

Cheers

Ahhhh *light in head comes on*

Thanks pthiel,
See they were right about what happens when you assume something.

Hmm...yup its "spatulata", but i say "spathulata"..oh well...

"Drosera spathulata" is not a valid name !!!!

it cames from a Latin word (spat(h)ulatus ???) which meens spoon-shaped and was written with and without h.

But the only valid names are Nepenthes spathulata and Drosera spatulata.
