Just some question about seedlings

I've got two questions to ask you guys.

1) How long does it take for Drosera seedlings to grow a decent size?

2) I've noticed that alot of seedlings of mine have grown on big chunks of perlite.  They seem stuck to the perlite when I try to transplant them.  Should they be transplanted with the perlite attached? (I'm afraid that if they're pulled on any harder they'll break)  If so will they eventually send roots into the soil or will they die?

Hi peter,

Within few months, with proper care and light, your seedlings should be to a decent size. Note that it depends a lot of the species, and they should not be too crowded in a small space for this. For your perlite, I wouldn't fear anything, transplant the seedlings with the perlite chunk, the roots will find their way! if you fear it could dry faster, try to burry the chunk a little in your soil, leaving the seedling on the top, of course!

Rate of maturity varies greatly within the genus. What species are you growing?
