Drosera prolifera

My D. prolifera has been flowering. They are very dinky.

Beautiful pics, though!

I'm happy to see the prolifera flowering and doing well.

dink·y (dingÆk"), adj., dink·i·er, dink·i·est, n., pl. dink·ies.
–adj.
1. Informal. small, unimportant, unimpressive, or shabby: We stayed in a dinky old hotel.

Does anyone know of a case where someone made seed from D. prolifera?
Just curious.

Joe

I have never heard of it, and I have looked! Ditto for D. schizandra and D. hamiltonii.

I have tried to get my plant to seed on several occassions, but with no luck thus far.

Thanks! The flower is small, but I think it looks nice.

'Dinky' has quite a different meaning in England;

dinky adj  (colloq.) -  Pretty, neat, of engaging appearance

(The Oxford Illustrated Dictionary).

I still think it's a dinky flower though, even if I don't mean the same thing!

Interesting...I've NEVER heard dinky used that way.

So you could say "My girlfriend is dinky" and that would be a compliment...

LOL!

Doesn't sound like a compliment to me, and I am sure you would be girlfriend-less the very next day.

Hmmm, I have seen this somewhere before, just can't remember...beautiful pics though Bob.

Isn't an English Language Dictionary the same thing in both countries? We both DO speak English, even though it may sound different.

Ah. They should be considered different languages, English and America because American is evolving its own language.
The dinky thing is just one example of this.
