I know rubra, but Drosera have earned their territory in the greenhouse, and slower yet, rare Utrics are popping up in the collection here and there.

just don't complain if you run out of room for neps and sarracenias!

Patch, Utrics real traps are underground, the only thing you'll see above is the leave part. Flowers too if they form.

Drosera are dewy when they are happy, my guess is perhaps its light starved.

Patch, dew production is mostly a function of lighting. The more light-> more dew.

more light? if i put more light on it'll get too hot in the terrarium.

hmm.. then again, maybe that will allow me to add a fan and fogger.. i was going to do that, but thought it would get too cold in the terrarium.

darn, now i gotta go spend another 100 bucks on a light fixture.

Patch, what Utric do you have? Dustin's photo is of U. reniformis, one of the larger species. Some Utrics have very tiny leaf-like structures (some consider them to be not true leaves) that at first glance may look like moss.

There is a fungus that sometimes hits Drosera that makes the leaves look more red, but with no dew(I think the S. Africans are more prone). Just thought I would mention that also.

Cheers,

Joe
