How do I germinate D. peltata seeds?

Like regular seeds that don't need stratification. Mine germinated in a few weeks.

I got some peltata seeds a few years ago and planted them. Nothing germinated so I put the pot in my "failure" area and forgot about it. About a year later, I noticed some peltata growing in the pot. I have no idea when they germinated, but they obviously did.
