I gave away my carnivorous collection 4 years ago when I moved to Utah and now it is time to start rebuilding.
I don't have a lot to trade but I do have a bunch of cuttings from cold hardy cactus from Central Utah. They are Optunia sp., not sure exactly which as they are likely hybrids. I...
I've had this cactus for about a year now, I bought it from a Chinese lady at a flea market who barely spoke English. All I know about it is that the leaves root readily and that the lady that I bought it from said that it would grow big.
Thanks
I decided to finally start a photo thread, now that I know how to post photos. I don't know how many updates this will be getting, but as of right now, enjoy.

I have a young saguaro about 7 1/2 inches tall and about 4 1/2 inches across at its widest point. The cactus is currently leaning in its pot and I know that it can be a serious problem with older saguaros because it causes them to fall over. What do you think the best way to straighten it is...
A rare and unusual hybrid form of the traditional E. Tirucalli 'pencil cactus' that produces heavily pointed, bushy branches. I only know of one grower (aside from me) that even has this hybrid available. At maturity it grows into a tree and begins to form a bark-like skin on it's largest/oldest...

Hi all forum members,
I really appreciate all the helps I got in this forum. So I decided to give away some extra Sarracenia seeds (30+, harvested early this month) that my friend gave me. Quite sure these are S.leucophylla seeds, but could possibly be mixed with other seeds.
Just follow this...
Well, it's not quite death valley, but I did make it out to Anza Borrego park yesterday. It's been raining a lot this past winter, including yesterday (at least coastally) so all of the mountains are unbelievably green this year. Here's the view on the approach towards the desert from Desert...

Went on a 4 day trip over Labor Day weekend to the Comanche National Grasslands for herpetology class, and basically spent a whole weekend looking for reptiles. Wasn't the only thing we found, of course, but more on that in a moment. First, the start of the trip:
