I have a small collection of cephalotus. The problem is though I tend to pay more attention to my nepenthes and so my ceph
s get neglected. They seem to be doing ok but I have decided to take better care of them starting now. Usually I don't check them or water them for weeks at a time, but they...
1) Opening Bid of $2.
2) Cephalotus leaf pulls - NOT ACTUAL PLANTS - Atleast 3 freshly pulled leaves, higher the bids the more leaves! We do not have ANY typical Cephs so they will all be from a clone of one type or another. If you have 1-2 clones we can try to work with you to ensure we don't...
1) Opening Bid of $2.
2) Cephalotus Location Emu Point growing under LED lighting in the cheapest Miracle grow potting soil I could find. It was an attempt to verify other peoples successes using this medium. I would highly recommend repotting it into a more traditional Ceph mix a few months...
Hello,
I have recently came into possession of some cephalotus seeds and after searching on the forum, came up with a plan to sow them. Some one else on this forum used seed-starter sponge to propogate pullings, maybe RSS or Jcal, can't remember. But I got inspiration for this from them...
Hello all,
I've been growing carnivorous plants for over 10 years. Most of that time I lived in Brooklyn where my growing area was limited to two small windowsills. I moved upstate a few years ago and my collection has grown exponentially. I am interested in all types of carnivorous plants but...
Hi All,
I would like to find out if anyone had experience using Horticultural Charcoal like the one below as an additive to the soil for Cephs?
Couple of days ago I divided and replanted my Cephalotus in a mix that contained Charcoal (~10%) as per the soil recommendation I have seen on other...
Hi all,
I got this ceph about two and a half months ago. It lives outside in south Florida in part shade. Temps range from 45 to 90F, and lately no lower than the mid sixties. It gets two hours of sun in its current position. I was originally told that it was 'recently' (whatever that means)...

I probably should have a loupe because I keep looking at everything, but found this little clear/w bit of purple looking thing near the base of the cephalotus. It's kinda offset a bit not sure what it is.
To the left I see new pitcher growth but what is in between on the crown? Is it a new leaf? Just curious because this is my first cephalotus plant.
I repotted it about a month ago. That's as far as the pitcher has opened.
Hi Everyone,
I am fairly new to the CP world but have been growing bonsai trees, orchids, air plants, and miniature gardens for approximately 8 years. I am currently growing Heliamphora, Nepenthes, Pinguicula, Utricularia, Drosera, and Cephalotus plants. I think it is safe to say that I am...
Quick question- my cephalotus has been workin on a really nice pitcher consistently all through winter, but now with better light and temps, it seems like new growth is taking off and that one much-awaited lil guy has just about stalled. Is it likely ever to open? It even put out and opened a...

Hello everyone, my name is Sara and I have been a grower of carnivorous plants for years.
I was born in a very small town in Connecticut and moved to SC in 1996 with my family.
I still live in Upstate SC with my husband of 12 years, our 3 children and a few pets.
We were best friends in high...
So I'm using 32w CFL's for a few cephalotus and sundews one lamp is 6500k daylight bulb and is 2700k good for my grow? That way I have both warm/cool lighting for coloration and growth.

So I'm using peat/sand/perlite as my medium, my question is would it be better to use live sphagnum for top soil or nah?
