Amazing how some sarracenia retain nice-colored pitchers into the winter months. Some of these carry nice pitchers even into spring. Pics taken December 14.

I was moving plants around outside last Saturday in preparation for freezing weather coming our way when I discovered Drosophyllum seedlings had very recently sprouted in a couple gallon nursery pots despite some pretty cold temps here recently (low 40’s day/low 30’s overnight). The media is...
It has been awhile since I posted pics of my sarracenia, so here goes the photo dump. Most of these were taken this month, a few end of August.

Found these P. lusitanica sprouting this year in a pot of Calopogon and a pot of sarracenia generously given to me last year on my way back from California, cute little things. They were not there when I brought the pots home last year, so assuming they sprouted this spring from seed that were...

The leaves on this one seem to be a much darker/deeper red than the typical D. filiformis “Florida Red” (aka “Florida All Red”) in my conditions outside in full sun.

Last year I threw a handful of untreated/unscarified Drosophyllum seed under the mass of dead leaves from a droso plant that had expired the year before and then I torched the whole thing. I left the pot sit outside and this spring this is what popped up in that pot. I don't know if the...
I noticed this one today when snapping photos of the bog plants, a double pitcher on my S. "Red Minor"!

I would like to express appreciation to everyone who participated in the NASC auction this year. There are already giveaways posted for donors and winners, so I am posting one for those who bid on at least two items but did not win anything in the auction.
The winner will receive one division...
We had a huge hail and thunderstorm roll through last night with some pretty good-sized hail. Thankfully I got the vulnerable pots (freshly potted stuff) under cover before it hit, but the bog I can't exactly move out of the way, haha. Fortunately not that many sarrs have open pitchers yet, but...
Up for auction is a package containing one Sarracenia “Dana’s Delight”, one venus flytrap, and one Drosera filiformis x Tracyi. The S. “Dana’s Delight” is a division from a mature flowering plant. All plants are just coming out of dormancy. Dana’s Delight photo is the plant divisions were taken...

Some mixed-seed VFT babies spending winter outside due to space issues in the garage. They seem to be doing well in the cold temps with overnight temps in the 20’s at times. Temps always warm up above freezing during the day though. The second pic is of the tray after the snow melted off the...
After a long wait, they finally sprouted. Thank you Johnny for giving me the opportunity to grow these!

:boogie: After a long wait, I spotted this little guy popping up this morning, D. menziesii. This is my first experience growing tuberous dews, thank you Johnny for the opportunity. I will post updates as it grows.
