My first nepenthes, acquired about 5 years ago was a cutting of N. Miranda from SirKirstoff. Up for giveaway is a rooted cutting from the same plant. About a foot across, a few healthy leaves. No qualifications needed, just start a list. I'll pick next Sunday, the 11th.
Happy growing,
Kyle
I'm concerned about nepenthes in particular, but I guess this question applies to all of horticulture. When I write about hybrids I'm never confident that I'm obeying the rules. Here are some of the variations I've seen.
N. x ventrata
The "x" indicates that this is a hybrid. I assume that this...
I got a rooted cutting of N. 'Miranda' from Shortbus in this forum 1 year ago (or 2) To return, I now giveaway a cutting made from the plant. It is a good beginner Nep. It is rooted and start to make pitcher now.
The plant will shipped in bare root. shipping on me. US only.

Any orchids that would do well in either pure sphagnum or sphagnum and orchid bark out there? Temps are about 70-80 during the day in the summer, 57-65 at night. In the winter it's 48-55 at night, and 65 during the day. Not sure about humidity, but there are several trays of moss in the...
I believe I now have enough plants to make a grow list. Not large, but over the course of just this year I have doubled it! :D Hopefully next year I will have a few more plants to add.

So I joined this forum over a year ago and never really participated much. However, I've learned alot from the great community here and am hoping to share the little knowledge I have and gain some more! I'm currently in college (Penn State) and spending the summer at my parents farm before...
There have been plenty of threads about flowering Nepenthes recently, so what's one more?
I have pollen stored currently of N. x mixta, 'Miranda', and (inermis x singalana) x mira available, the last one sending up another flower stalk as well. I have also begun collecting pollen of 'Rebecca...
Hello Office Workers!
I was recently asked to find a showy Nepenthes that reliably produces pitchers in a somewhat sunny office environment. The requestee has no real experience with carnivorous plants and would prefer not to have a terrarium. Supplemental light is a possibility, but the main...

Hello, I have been looking at a Nepenthes Miranda and am very interested in getting one. My only problem is i hear it gets very big. I do not mind this but i wanted it to be a house plant. I would be okay with it getting very tall i just do not know if it will be okay as a house plant. What do...

Hi,
I bought this Nepenthes plant last year and it was doing fine when all of the sudden all pitchers dried and despite new vines were showing no pitchers developed again.
Today is worse, the leaves are very thin and soft like bat wings, I'm afraid it might die soon.
I can't post a picture...
