OK, I have got one. Yesterday, I visited the home of a gal in a plant trading group locally. She has a tree that is quite rare locally, but it readily produces seed she says are easy to germinate. Said to grow 18 to 20 feet tall, very cold hardy, fast grower, originally from Mexico. Only in...
I thought it would be neat if people traded their extra plants but made it a surprise to the receiver. I have a few young ones of my own which should be ready later in the year for shipping, but by then I might forget about this idea. So here are the rules.
1. No revealing or hinting at what...
I have two mystery 'dews:
Dew 1: I have no idea
Dew 2: I know this one is probably tuberous.
Both of them sprang up in a pot I reused from another grower for Byblis and D. scorp. I didn't realize that everything would end up getting so crowded.
Thanks for the help!

Mystery N. merrilliana hybrids (sold as N.'Hopeful Monsters' by a certain Nepenthes nursery in Hawaii) have been around for several years now. I am a huge fan of N. merrilliana crosses, so if anyone has pics, I would be very curious to see how they are turning out!
From talking with the nursery...
Everything looks terrible because it's winter and I don't believe in artificial lighting, but here goes:
N.spectabilis x talangensis
N.sibuyanensis x xtrusmadiensis
N.densiflora x robcantleyii (King of Spades)
some other Ping flower...
I was at a local garden center today and brought home a new ping, which has inspired me to see if I can put a name on my other pings, so there are my mystery pings:
1) The one I got today.
2) This one has been turning rosy.
3) My first ping!
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
I've had this utric for quite q while now. It was sent to me as a mystery utric. Now that its flowering I was hoping someone could ID it for me. Has huge leaves and flowers with a purplish tint. Thanks in advance.

First up is nidiformis, at least that's what the seed packet said  Little guys took darn near six months to germinate.
Next is a mystery dew. The leaf came labled in a trade. I promptly lost the lable. I emailed the giver and asked, and deleted all my email in error. As of now I...

Has anyone ever compared "blue" to the description in Taylor? Particularly the traps? Does Taylor mention both? (I haven't gotten around to picking up the monograph yet, but it's on my short list). The two just seem SO different to me - is it me, or are the leaves quite different? I know there...
Hey all, I know these posts can be somewhat obnoxious, but I've found some great plants through requests like this! Thanks to all who have reached out in the past :hail: Scroll down for a list of things that I'm looking for regardless of trades for the below plants.
I'll start by saying that I...
This plant came to me as a Nepenthes stenophylla orginating from seed collected on Mt. Kelabit in the Bareo Highlands. It's obviously not stenophylla nor does it appear to carry stenophylla genes. To me it looks like a hybrid of N.hirsuta given the basic leaf and pitcher morphology. The frilly...
I got these pygmy dews from a TF member last year and neither he or I know what they are. I am not versed in tropical sundews as I don't grow them on purpose, rescued these when they were infested with bugs and needed to be isolated from the growers other plants. They miraculously beat the odds...

Thought I would share some pics, albeit they do probably kind of suck, quality wise. Did what I could with an Android cam.
Hummer's Giant first:
I'm pretty sure that's a flower stalk poking up, I will be doing a cutting on that soon:
Here's a few of my "mystery vigorous" cephalotus...
