I am looking for the following Dionaea cultivars. If you have any for trade let me know.
I am also looking for tissue samples from them, mainly fresh flower stalks about 3-5 inches in length and leaves.
If you want to send me some tissue, I will try to tissue culture it and if it works I could...
For those of you who haven't seen photos of this newly registered cultivar, below are a few I took recently. This is a very odd looking flytrap and not like any other clone I've ever seen. The petioles are long and thin like spaghetti noodles and the traps are poorly formed, almost like...
Many years ago I obtained a clone of a plant called, Drosera binata var. dichotoma and recently I have been nostalgic for a clone with similar attributes to those I remember. All clones I've seen recently have not had these same traits.
The plant I'm looking for had predominantly green leaves...

U. humboldtii plant
This is a small plant from an aerial stolon from one of my larger plants. Plants from these original seedlings have been producing 'paddles' 4-7" high and about 1.5" wide. However, I do not know if this is truly their adult size. For whatever reason, this species is rarely...

Hi!
I recently got into possession these 2 beautiful species. They are large size (ordensis 8cm and derbyensis 4cm across). I have a small terrarium where I grow d. paradoxa and d.petiolaris with great success. (Used to grow there d. kenneallyi too before my parent "took care of it").
The...
So some time in October, I bought a 6.99 Fred Meyer's cylinder of death fly trap.
It did 'ok' for a while, until I put it into dormancy, when then it died back and lost a few leaves - no biggy.
It remained a spindly rosette of green petioles until sometime in January when, in the midst of...
i would like to start by saying i found this on www.thegardenhelper.com . this is not my work, it is that of the person who posted this on the site mentionned above. I thought it is EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE and makes defining easy by using plain old english, and not technical terms!
Please, ENJOY...
Due to a communication and labeling error, I have just heavily fertilized my VFT with an unknown fertilizer/water mix. I rinsed it out as thouroughly with about a half gal of water and have little to nothing to repot it with.
Should I uproot it and stick it in the fridge for immediate dormancy...
well, my flytraps came in quite suddenly, they appear fairly healthy, mature, and happy, even though they were shipped upside-down in a box full of packaging peanuts XD. they had the good sense to tape around the base with masking tape to keep the dirt/rhizome from falling out at least.
So...
All taken but more D. binata on the way.
available if you send a self-addressed-stamped-envelope. USA only.
The "white" D. capensis has pinkish tentacles but no other red - flowers were white.
The "red" D. capensis was mostly red all summer - petioles. flower stalk & tentacles were red...
D. x hybrida MacFarlane (photographed in habitat by Fernando Rivadavia, ref. http://www.cpukforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27388)
Often, there is a story behind the find; here's the one that goes with this plant.
Back in the early 1970's, I would often take my wife and young son to Bass...

I have decided to see if anyone would be interested in trading some Nepenthes for some of my Venus Flytraps or Sarracenia. I am looking for any Nepenthes that aren't on my growlist, especially a nice Ampullaria. Please PM or email me if interested and I will tell you how many are available and...
After some debate with myself, I have decided to see if anyone would be interested in trading some Nepenthes for some of my Venus Flytraps. I have quite a few VFTs and am looking for any Nepenthes that aren't on my growlist. Please PM or email me if interested and I will tell you how many are...
I am in the process of making some room and wanted to post the extra plants that I have. I am really looking for lowland or highland Nepenthes and would love an N. Ampullaria or N. Hookeriana but will accept offers for any Sarracenia or VFTs that aren't on my growlist. PM or email me if...
I recently found a mutated leaf on my VFT. Its one of the most awesome leaf i've ever seen from venus flytraps. Its teeth have tiny teeth on them. The rim of the petioles have teeth too. The petioles remind me of holly leaves. Will making a leaf cutting get me a new cultivar or is this just a...
I'm putting 4 seedlings of creeping death x creeping death up. When I say 4, I really mean "at least but probably more than 4". I'm too lazy to separate them and will just send a clump. These are about a year old now. They look pretty creeping death-ish...petioles on some of them are about 3"...
